Bio

  • Dr. Yuan XU serves as a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Beijing Institute of Technology, and a visiting scholar at Leiden University, holding membership both in the Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature/Philosophy of Nature and the Chinese Psychological Society. She obtained her Ph.D. in Philosophy of Science and Technology from Tsinghua University, where she also did her post-doctoral research on the relationship between science, technology and society. The central thread of her research runs the philosophy of complex systems, social complexity and computational social science. In recent years, she has conducted more than ten national and provincial programs, editing a series of translations of "Artificial Intelligence Safety and Ethics" (published by Science Press) and "Complexity, Artificial Intelligence and Philosophy" (published by Tsinghua University Press).
