Wang Yiran is the vice president and secretary general of Chinese Society of Astronautics, the vice president of China Institute of Space Law, member of Commission of Science and Technology, State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry of National Defense, PRC, the secretary general of IAF subcommittee Select Sub-Committee on Satellite Commercial Applications, and the head of the Research Center of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA). He has presided over the research on the Development strategy of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, Space 2030 and White Papers on China’s Space Activities. He is the editor in chief of the Overview on World Science, Technology and Industry for Defense (2012). He is entitled with the special allowance of the State Council. He is recognized by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation with the title of Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions . He has won 1 third Prize of National Science and Technology Progress, 2 first prizes, 9 second prizes and 6 third prizes of National Defense Science and Technology Progress.
